Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at asbestoskingz@gmail.com or text anytime to 0478733973, if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If your home was built before the late 1980s, there’s a good chance it may contain asbestos, especially in areas like eaves, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, kitchens, vinyl tiles, roofing, and fencing. Our team is highly experienced and qualified to identify materials that are likely to contain asbestos.

While laboratory testing is the only way to be 100% certain, it’s optional and can be arranged at an extra cost if you choose. We’ll guide you through the process and help you make an informed decisional, ways prioritising your safety.

What does asbestos look like in Queensland homes?

Asbestos can appear in many forms and often looks similar to normal building materials. In Queensland homes, it is commonly found in fibro sheeting, cement boards, corrugated roofing, vinyl floor tiles, and backing to old linoleum. Visual identification alone is unreliable, which is why testing is recommended.

If you’d like a general idea of cost, we can provide an estimate over the phone or via email. For an exact quote, we can arrange a free, no-obligation on-site assessment for properties located within 30 minutes of Burpengary, QLD.

For locations more than 30 minutes away, a $150 call-out fee applies, and for properties over one hour away, a $200 call-out fee applies. If you choose to proceed with your asbestos removal works with us, the call-out fee will be fully deducted from your final quote.

Yes. In Queensland, asbestos testing is strongly recommended before starting renovations or strip-out works, especially in older properties. Renovation activities can disturb asbestos-containing materials and release harmful fibres if not identified first. With our years of experience we may be able to visually identify the material but this is not guaranteed

Once asbestos removal is complete, a comprehensive visual clearance is carried out by an independent licensed asbestos assessor to ensure the site meets strict safety standards. For clients seeking the highest level of assurance, we can arrange air monitoring by a NATA-accredited hygiene consultant, delivering definitive verification of a safe and asbestos-free environment.

Asbestos removal can be dangerous if not carried out correctly. Disturbing asbestos materials can release airborne fibres that pose serious health risks. Licensed asbestos removalists use approved methods, equipment, and safety controls to minimise exposure.

The cost of asbestos removal depends on factors such as the type of material, location, condition, accessibility, and size of the area. Asbestos Kingz can provide guidance and arrange inspections to determine the safest approach.

No. During the asbestos removal process, no one is permitted to be on site while works are being carried out. If the removal extends over more than one day, you may return to the property and use non-work areas once our technicians have left for the day.

The work area will remain sealed and must not be accessed until clearance has been received, to ensure the safety of everyone on site.
